Abstract

The Journal of Security, Intelligence, and Resilience Education (JSIRE) is publishing a Special

Edition, Research to Practice, in December 2024. You are cordially invited to submit an article.

The Special Edition will capture how academics and practitioners from homeland security, emergency management, intelligence, public administration, public health, law enforcement, and related fields teach and use research methodologies in their courses, programs, and scholarly works.

Research is the orderly study of phenomena and processes to discover facts and principles. It includes exploring, describing, and explaining the wonders of the world. Research is a means for humans to better their lives and improve society. Academics and practitioners research problems such as organizational challenges, diseases, disaster management, terrorism, crime, mass shootings, cyber threats, and climate change.

For this Special Edition, research includes qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods methodologies. Contact the Editor if you have any questions about proposed papers that potentially fall outside of the research typology criteria.
